Yoga and Physio combined for your health and wellbeing.
Who benefits?
Come and Explore the broad range of tools we have here at The Physio & Yoga Clinic to treat your pain or injury.
Look at more than just the musculoskeletal system, observe your thoughts and feelings while you exercise your body physically. Your mind influences your body’s health and the body influences your mind. There is much more to good health than the physical body; your mind, digestion, emotions, and lifestyle all influence wellbeing.
If you are stressed or busy your body will get tense. There are methods for undoing this tension through ‘conscious’ breathing techniques or if you wish to go further through mindfulness, meditation, and self-reflection. Book Online for a session to learn how.
What does it do?
Yoga calms and strengthens the mind and the body. They are one, not treated separately.
Yoga teaches you how to feel into your body, and listen to your body’s needs. Learning how to read your body is a skill to help you manage your pain or injury.
Physical Poses (Asanas) – relieve body stiffness, weakness, misalignments, and excessive energy. Benefit muscular, skeletal, neural, cardiovascular, respiratory, lymphatic and digestive systems.
Body Health (Ayurveda) – a scientific approach to living well in our environment.
Breath (Pranayama) – To calm the mind and body. The breath connects the conscious part of you to the unconscious autonomic part of you. Moves you from a “flight, fight, freeze” sympathetic nervous state to a “rest and digest” parasympathetic state.
Meditation – calms, helps sleep, to detach from everyday disturbances – like pain, to soften sensations -like pain, and feel joy and contentment.
Yoga integrates it all!
